Visio - How can I "extract" an image from XML visio file?

Asked By adiazre on 03-Jul-07 07:02 AM
Hello.

I have a visio file with a JPG image as "background". I add shapes and
connections and I save it as Visio-XML.

Now, in the XML file there is a field named "Foreign Data" that seems to
contain the information about the JPG image embedded.

I want to know if I could be able to "repaint" the original JPG image from
that Visio data and how to do it.

Thank you very much

I do not remember clearly, but MIME Base64 decoder may read images.

Once the image has been inserted into Visio it is no longer in JPEG format but some
internal format that MS do not release (as far as I know).

These newsgroups are no longer in use and it is unlikely that you will get an answer here.
There are replacement forums for Visio, Microsoft's own:
